At Poetry on Drums we produce world-class musicians, educated music listeners, and the future patrons of Indian Classical music.

Of all the world's drumming traditions, Tabla stands out most for the remarkable poetic aspect of its music. Some Tabla compositions use rhyme, punctuation, and stressed and non-stressed syllables just like classical poetry, while other compositions are like free-verse poetry with spontaneous and unpredictable structures. Head instructor Chaz Hastings has spent years developing a modern Tabla curriculum to educate students in these traditional compositions while at the same time inspiring them to unlock their unique creative potential. At Poetry on Drums, students don't just learn rhythms and grooves; they learn an entire language with which to express themselves in any music they choose.
